Our Board Members & Caretakers

amber and zoyaGreetings! My name is Amber Bacca. I’m a 3rd generation Coloradoan and I’ve been in South Park since early 2020. I grew up in Denver, obtained a Bachelor’s from CU Boulder in 2002 and a Master’s from the University of Denver in 2010. I spent a number of years backpacking and living throughout Central and South America, Southeast Asia, Australia, and parts of Europe. Before moving to the area, I was living in a 1978 Mallard in Denver during the summer and a tiny camper named Zoya on the beach in Baja over the winter months.

I’ve spent the past 14 years as a pioneer in an emerging industry, starting out as a laborer and working my way up to my other current position as a compliance and operations expert, facilitating online classes for clients from coast to coast.

When I’m not working, I’m typically spending my time wrangling plants and animals on my 40-acre off-grid farm up the road from CORA. When I’m not doing that, I can be found hiking, paddleboarding, fishing, camping, or skiing somewhere beautiful around here.

I couldn’t be more excited to join the CORA community and I can’t wait to meet you all in person!

Jeff Witkins, VP and Facilities Director at CORAHello, My name is Jeff Witkins. My wife Alicia and I have been a CORA members since 2021 and own C&S Lot 33, I am delighted to be a board member in the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 years.

I find CORA to be the perfect basecamp to get out to explore all the beauty Colorado has to offer year round. Being from Denver, I get up to CORA all year round for small durations in between jobs.

I own a small Hardwood flooring company and Alicia is a Nurse. For entertainment I love wood working, skiing, scuba diving, ATV riding, hiking, and motorcycle riding.  As a board member I would like to continue to update and improve the existing amenities and infrastructure CORA has to offer. See you all around the Campground.

Shandel Winchell, Board MemberHi, my name is Shandel Winchell, Treasurer of CORA. We bought in CORA in May of 2022, with my husband, Jim Winchell, and our 2 chihuahuas. I have served on HOA boards for 32 years in over a dozen communities in Colorado and New York properties.

When I was younger I was a computer trainer and an office manager, while dabbling in real estate investing, fix and flips and rentals. Currently preparing for retirement, I manage our rentals and enjoy volunteering on the Board.
When not working on our houses, my husband and I enjoy travelling, meeting new people and listening to live music, he’s an avid snowboarder. I have been very impressed by the CORA community and my desire is to contribute in making CORA enjoyable for everyone.

Darla Peterson Secretary CORAHello. My name is Darla Peterson. My husband, Doug, and I have been CORA members since November 2022.  We own C&S Lot 36.

I work remotely from home as a Senior Recruiter for a biotech company in Fargo, ND. My husband recently retired but spent his entire career working as an accountant for AT&T/Avaya.  I am originally from a farming community in SE Nebraska and a proud graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

We left Arvada, CO and moved to Punta Gorda, Florida in August 2022 (30 days before Hurricane Ian went over the top of our house). After living in Colorado for many years, we knew we needed to have a place to return “home” to each summer. We love the outdoors and everything CORA has to offer.

We own a four-year-old Boxer named Sassafras. Besides enjoying the Colorado views, we enjoy Florida sunsets, scuba diving and traveling. We look forward to meeting more people this summer while we enjoy the cooler weather in Colorado. Please stop by and say hello.

Sharon French, Board Member CORAHi, my name is Sharon French and I was elected to the board in 2022, in an At Large position. My husband, David, and I purchased our first property, DSP16, in 2020 and added the property next door, DSP15, in 2021.

My first year on the board I served as Treasurer but switched to “member at large”, assisting the treasurer in the second year due to a serious health challenge. I’m happy to say I am currently in remission and have continued to be active on the board.

My background includes a Master’s degree in Gerontology and Health Care Administration and a position as a CEO of several Skilled Nursing Home Facilities. I was then employed by the TX Dept. on Aging as a Director of Budget and Planning. In retirement, my daughter and I owned a bookkeeping business. My side “gig” has been as a singer and choral director.

We reside in the Austin, TX area but also had a house in Hartsel Springs Ranch for over 20 years before buying at CORA. We have been long time RVers so we think CORA is the best of both worlds.
